Construction is underway on three new elementary schools to open in 谢尔曼ISD for the 2025-26 school year.

Thanks to voter approval of a $540 million bond program in May 2023, 谢尔曼ISD will open five new schools to accommodate rising student enrollment and further enhance the learning environment.

• 新, larger campuses will replace the existing 克拉奇菲尔德小学 and 锦绣小学, 它们是在20世纪50年代建造的吗.
• A brand-new 谢尔曼ISD elementary school will open in 2025 in Heritage Ranch, a master-planned community in northwest Sherman, attracting families moving to or relocating in the Sherman area.
• Another brand-new elementary school is planned to open on the south side of Sherman at a location still to be determined.
• Opening in 2026 at the existing site of Wakefield Elementary is a new, single campus dedicated to serving 谢尔曼ISD’s youngest students. The new school will offer high-quality early childhood programs to prepare 3- and 4-year olds for success in elementary school and beyond.

金沙博彩新学校, the 2023 bond program will also fund districtwide safety, security and technology upgrades, as well as a new multipurpose stadium at 谢尔曼高中 to serve football, 足球, track, 乐队, 护旗队, 欢呼, drill team and other school programs and activities.

Additions and/or renovations are planned at the new 谢尔曼高中, 派纳中学, 杰斐逊学习中心 and Dillingham Elementary, which will be converted to the district’s third middle school as enrollment continues to grow.

NEW AND REPLACEMENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

谢尔曼中学学生, 父母, 社区成员, and 工作人员 played a vital role in the process to plan for the replacement of Crutchfield Elementary and Fairview Elementary, as well as a brand-new elementary campus on a new site. All three new elementary schools are set to open in August of 2025. The new campus is being constructed on 22.55 acres of land donated by Covenant Development in the Heritage Ranch master-planned community. Read details on the site location. Construction began in summer 2024. 

Starting in July 2023, groups of 工作人员, 父母, and students 收集以提供输入 关于新学校的设计. Then the whole community had the opportunity to provide comments on the design, site plan and floor plans for Crutchfield and Fairview through a 反馈形式. The final plans created by architect VLK were reviewed by the 谢尔曼ISD 校董会 and approved by the City of Sherman.

Crutchfield and Fairview will remain open and continue to serve students until the new buildings are complete on the opposite side of the school properties. Construction began at both locations in spring 2024. ADDITIONS AT SHERMAN HIGH SCHOOL

A committee of 谢尔曼ISD 工作人员 and 社区成员 began meeting in fall 2023 to provide input and ideas for the design of the new stadium at 谢尔曼高中. The committee was reconvened in spring 2024 to revise and refine a working design to keep the cost of the project on target. The district continues to work to finalize design and construction plans.
